Peter Billman is best known for his exquisite "plein-aire" landscapes, although his still life paintings are equally prized. After moving from Hilton Head to Newburgh in 1999, he painting the abundant beauty of the Hudson Valley until his death in 2006.

Born and raised in Oyster Bay on Long Island, Billman earned his BFA at Syracuse University. He also studied in England and Italy. His paintings are in private collections in the U.S. and Europe, and many have been bought by other artists.
