Introduction
Denniston House is an elegant Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the historic district of Newburgh, New York — the gateway to the Hudson Valley.
The Federal-style house was built about 1820 for Mr. Goldsmith Denniston, a local attorney who later moved to Albany to serve in the New York State legislature. Modified in the 1880s with the addition of a bay window and marble fireplaces, the house was updated in 2001-04 by its present owners, caterer Nancy Billman and landscape painter Peter Billman.
Denniston House offers comfort, elegance and good food in a setting convenient for the Hudson River, the historic sites of the Newburgh, nearby attractions such as West Point, Storm King Art Center, and Dia:Beacon, and the recreational attractions of the Mid-Hudson Valley. |
